Adventure of the Islands, A Weekend Event for Everyone!
Celebrating the St.Lawrence River, and the unique way paddlers connect with it. Perfect for kids, beginners, seniors and competitive paddlers of all ages.
Building on the success of last years event, this weekend combines a fun day of learning in kayaks and concludes with a race on Sunday. All ages, abilities, individuals & families welcome. There will be learning clinics for adults and kids and race categories for recreational and competitive folks.
Last years attendance was over 200 and with your help we can exceed that this time. Local organizations attending next summers event include Parks Canada (St. Lawrence Island National Parks), the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve & many other local community groups.

Paddle the Arch
The best paddling trails within the Frontenac Arch Biosphere ReserveBack by popular demand, our Paddle the Arch tour package will be exploring 5 of the best paddling trails within the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve. All the equipment is included with a feature Local Flavours lunch showcasing the best of our region's seasonal foods. No one has yet forgotten the spread of local cheeses, organic juices, fresh fruits and old world breads, all prepared and served by the water's edge. Indeed the food and experience is amazing!
No paddling experience is necessary to register for 1, 3 or all 5 tours. Enjoy the all inclusive hospitality of 1000 Islands Kayaking and explore the beauty or our back yard lakes and rivers. We take care of everything.
Trip #1 Admiralty Islands, 1000 Islands Gananoque (June 5, 9:00 - 4:00)
Meeting at 110 Kate St, Gananoque. Wander the beautiful 1000 Islands and explore the unique historical paddling trails of the Admiralty Islands. Stop on a National Park for lunch, hiking and swimming. Return to Gananoque for a social evening at one of our local pubs.
Trip #2 Rideau Canal, Brewers Mills - Jones Falls (June 27, 9:00 - 5:00)
Meeting at Jones Falls Locks just of Hwy 15, Shuttles will be arranged on site to Upper Brewers Mills for trip departure.Paddle through Cranberry Lake, Seeley's Bay, Whitefish Lake and Rock Dunder for some of the most captivating scenery along the Rideau. Stick around for a lovely dinner with friends at Hotel Kenny after your day on the water.
Trip #3 Gananoque River (July 24, 9:00 - 4:00)
Meeting at the steel workers park in Gananoque just upstream of the dam. Paddle to Marble Rock Dam for Lunch and return to Gananoque in the evening. Bring your camera for this one, the wildlife is amazing and the route is very sheltered.
Trip #4 Brock Isles (Sept 11, 9:00 - 4:00)
Meeting at St. Lawrence Park, Brockville, paddle amongst the City and National Park Islands, stopping for lunch and swim on an island a returning to St. Lawrence Park.
Trip #5 (Charleston Lake Oct 2, 9:00 - 4:00)
Meeting at Charleston Lake Provincial Park. The sandy beaches and sheltered launch make for incredible access into the crystal clear waters of Charleston Lake. Towering pines and rocky shores make this a perfect destination for a fall colours outing.

2010 Canada 55+ Games
Canada 55+ Games in Brockville and the 1000 Islands!
The Canada 55+ Games is a nation-wide program to sponsor wellness that is, the spiritual, mental and physical well being among Canadians 55 years of age and older. Provincial programs are staged annually in different provinces and territories. The Canada 55+ Games Association (C55+GA) is the overseeing body for the Canada 55+ Games. The Games are open to adults 55 and above as of December 31 of the year in which the Games are held.
1000 islands kayaking will be participating in the CDIC Active Living Day at St Lawrence Park on August 26 by providing free kayaking demos and on-water instruction. We will also be on site St. Lawrence College Athletes' Village on August 23-24 for registration of day trips and courses open to athletes and the general public.

Brockville Riverfest 2010
4 Evenings of enterainment; Concerts, Events and Games.
Brockville Riverfest is working on filling 4 nights of action-packed entertainment for your enjoyment on the Main Stage at Blockhouse Island this summer. Tickets go on sale on May 3, 2010 at the Brockville Tourism Office. Advance tickets will be sold for $20 and at the gate the price will be $25
1000 Islands Kayaking will be at Block House Island on July 3&4 from 10 to 5 pm for free kids kayaking. Everyone is welcome to join our certified instructors on the water for free test paddles of used boats for sale. If you are new to kayaking this is a great opportunity to take the family for a trial run and enjoy the river! Safety boaters from 1000 Islands Kayaking will be on the water to help with and essential instruction and ensure you have a good time.

Brockville Beachfest 2010
Laborday Weekend Concerts and Events!
Shane Yellowbird and the Asham Stompers will headline the Sixth Annual Music and Dance Festival at Reedy Creek over the Labour Day weekend. The festival, which also features Reedy Creek Idol and the "World Jigging Championships," with over $5,000 in prizes, runs Friday through Sunday.
1000 Island Kayaking will beach of St. Lawrence Park with a trailer full of used boats for sale and free paddling for kids and families. Get the kids outside and on the water for the day and test paddle a huge range of used boats for great end of season prices.
