Rentals

Our rental packages are designed to fully outfit you for an enjoyable day on the water. Everything from the coast guard required equipment, charts and recommended routes, emergency contact information, National Park Beaching permits and high end touring kayaks are waiting for you at the launch site.
Rental packages are flexible to meet your schedule ranging from 3 hours to week long excursions. If you have a cottage in the area with family visiting, two kayaks for the week can be a great addition to the family vacation!
Please note that it does require some experience to paddle in the 1000 Islands and venturing off on your own comes with a handful of risks. There are busy boating channels, cruise ships freighters, strong currents in certain sections and 1864 islands to get lost in. Even if you have been paddling for several years, it is common for paddlers to run into unexpected trouble. Our guided tours will prove very worthwhile with the added safety and detailed knowledge of the river’s vibrant ecology, fascinating history and unique geology. Our ‘local flavors’ island lunch is incredible and our guides can take you right into the hidden beaches and marshlands that you may otherwise miss on your own.
For the safety of our clients and the people you are paddling with. We require you to complete a competency questionnaire before finalizing the rental. This is to help ensure that no one is putting themselves or families in undue risk. Our staff reserve the right to deny rental equipment to individuals not meeting the minimum standard of safety assessed in this form. Please do not take this personally yet regard it as a way we are caring for you, your family and other boaters on the river. There are still plenty of paddling opportunities though our guided programs and certification courses.
If you would like to rent a kayak from us please ensure that you can answer the following questions:
i) If your boat tips over, how do you get back in; when you are alone & when you are not?
ii) How do you know where the boating channels are and how do you safely navigate through them?
iii) If the weather changes for the worse while you are on the water, what would you do?
